This woman opened a women-only gym, and swapped her sickness for her fitness. Danielle King is a Navy wife who’s been forced to move a lot, explaining to NowThis, “Over the years, I started gaining weight and started getting super depressed…when I found fitness, it was an amazing feeling and when I felt that…I wanted to tackle the world.” King coped with the constant change in her life through fitness. She quit her job and invested in her passion, opening her own gym aptly named, ‘Fitness Is My Sickness.’ King explains her fitness philosophy saying that, “…It’s not about, ‘Oh, I want to be skinny.’ It’s about being healthy and happy…and not having to worry about going to the gym and having guys watch.” Her gym is a no excuses community that includes active military, veterans, spouses, and moms. King hopes to inspire women to put their health first, and her message is simple: “We don’t have the ability to change anybody else, what we do have the ability to do is change ourselves.”
