Russia's Foreign Minister says Moscow will consider supporting a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Syria.
However, Sergey Lavrov said the backing will only come if the resolution does not cover the Islamic State Group and Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists that are shelling civilians in Damascus.
His comments came as the UNSC is meeting to vote on a draft resolution demanding a 30-day pause in fighting in eastern Ghouta to allow deliveries of humanitarian aid.
Russia, a veto-wielding UNSC member, has called for certain aspects of the resolution proposal made by Sweden and Kuwait to be amended.
