The U.S. Defense Department says details of the postponed South Korea-U.S. joint military drills will be released next month when the PyeongChang Winter Olympics wrap up.
In an email interview with Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency, the Pentagon spokesperson said... the drills -- Key Resolve and Foal Eagle -- which are usually held in late February or early March... were postponed to ensure the security of the Games and lower tensions in the region.
North Korea has been calling the drills invasion rehearsals and sees them as justification for the regime's provocations.
Seoul remains silent on the drills,... saying the schedule will be announced (quote) "at an appropriate time."
