President Trump on Monday again lashed out at former President Obama over Russia's election meddling.
President Trump on Monday lashed out at former President Barack Obama over Russia's interference in the 2016 election. "Obama was President up to, and beyond, the 2016 Election. So why didn't he do something about Russian meddling?" Trump wrote on Twitter.
The tweet comes a day after Trump's tweetstorm targeting Obama and Democratic Representative Adam Schiff. "Finally, Liddle' Adam Schiff, the leakin' monster of no control, is now blaming the Obama Administration for Russian meddling in the 2016 Election. He is finally right about something. Obama was President, knew of the threat, and did nothing. Thank you Adam!" Trump wrote in one of the tweets on Sunday. Those tweets follow the Justice Department's Friday announcement regarding indictments against Russian nationals and entities for meddling in US elections. Trump has repeatedly dismissed special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, calling it a "witch hunt" on occasions. On Friday, the president appeared to suggest on Twitter that the indictments were proof his campaign didn't collude with Russia. The New York Times reports, as the weekend progressed, he slipped into a state of rage, blasting the FBI for being too preoccupied with Russia to follow up on a lead about the Florida school shooter. He then took his national security adviser, H. R. McMaster, to task for failing to mention at a conference that the Russian election influence did not in any way affect the contest's outcome.
McMaster had instead said that the evidence of Russian meddling is now "incontrovertible and available in the public domain."
