Residents in Mexico City were alerted to a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in the early hours of Monday, February 19, after the quake hit Oaxaca to the southeast.
This video was taken by an eyewitness and an alarm can be heard ringing out in the suburb of Polanco.
The earthquake struck about 27 miles east of Oaxaca at a depth of 6.2 miles, according to news reports.
