Keeping maximum pressure on North Korea,... U.S. Vice President Mike Pence has reiterated that the Trump administration will continue to "stand up against" North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Addressing the crowd at a Republican fundraiser in Texas on Sunday,... Pence said the strongest measures will be put on North Korea until the regime completely gives up its nuclear program.
His sentiments were echoed by other members of the Trump team.
National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said the administration "must pressure the Kim Jong-un regime, using all available tools, to ensure that this cruel dictatorship cannot threaten the world with the most destructive weapons on earth."
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said he is "listening" for cues from North Korea that it is ready to engage in direct talks with the U.S.,... adding no incentives will be used to bring the regime back to talks.
