Kendo is a modern Japanese martial art, which descended from swordsmanship and uses bamboo swords and protective armour.
EVERY year, the All Japan Kendo Federation donates Kendo equipment to Kendo clubs all over the world in view of promoting Kendo, a modern Japanese martial art of sword-fighting based on traditional swordsmanship.
The concept of Kendo is to discipline the human character through the application of the principles of the ˜Katana' (sword).
Keeping this norm, the All Japan Kendo Federation recently made a donation of 20 full sets of Kendo equipment (bamboo swords and protective armours) to the Qatar Kendo Club for the first time.
On behalf of the All Japan Kendo Federation, the Embassy of Japan hosted the donation ceremony at the ambassador's residence, inviting the members of the Qatar Kendo Club.
The Qatar Kendo Club was formed in May 2012 by two founders, Abdulrahman al-Mohannadi, Director of Qatar Kendo Club, and Julian Biddulph
