On Wednesday afternoon, a crash involving a helicopter may be the first US case that proves that drones are in fact hazards for larger flying machines that carry people. According to an FAA statement, the crash involved a student pilot and instructor flying a Robinson R22 helicopter near Charleston who reported seeing a small drone right in front of them before maneuvering to avoid it and clipping a tree. The helicopter then made a crash landing.
