Malaysian Hollywood star Michelle Yeoh put Langkawi on the world map, after her character Captain Philippa Georgiou in the television series “Star Trek: Discovery”, introduced the island as her home.
The shout-out, even though brief, came as a good promotion and raised more interest among tourists to visit the island, said Langkawi Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Organisation secretary, Ahmad Phisol Ishak.
