Candidate registration for the June 13th local elections begins today,... exactly 120 days before Koreans head to the polls to select their representatives.
It means those wanting to run for governor or superintendent of education are able to sign up.
Registrations are also open for six parliamentary seats that have been left vacant for various reasons.
They include two left empty.... after a couple of opposition party lawmakers were recently stripped of their seats due to irregularities.
Once registrations are complete, the National Election Commission will post the candidates' detailed information on its website.
