Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter on Monday and said that his wife and children are "safe and unharmed" about the package scare.
Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter Monday afternoon and posted an update after his family received an envelope containing suspicious white powder.
"Thankful that Vanessa & my children are safe and unharmed after the incredibly scary situation that occurred this morning. Truly disgusting that certain individuals choose to express their opposing views with such disturbing behavior," he wrote on Twitter. "No one deserves to be frightened this way. There is no excuse."
In another tweet, he wrote, "A special thanks today to the great men & women of the @NYPDnews @FDNY @SecretService @NewYorkFBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force for their decisive action and incredible words of support to my wife and family. Their professionalism under pressure made a rough day manageable."
According to the Washington Post, Vanessa, President Trump's daughter-in-law, was "not feeling well" after she opened the letter and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Based on initial analysis, authorities deemed the powder to be non-hazardous.
WNBC reports the envelope was addressed to Trump Jr. and postmarked from Boston.
