The flag bearer is typically chosen in a vote of the eight US winter sport federations. The decision came down to Erin Hamlin and Shani Davis, A coin toss was set to decide who would carry the flag, after Hamlin and Davis tied 4-4. According to the US Olympic committee, Hamlin was chosen.
