Authorities Seize Over a Ton of Marijuana in Drug Bust

Over a ton of marijuana valued at about 24 million Argentine pesos (US$1,300,000) was seized by authorities in Argentina in series of operations over February 8 and 9.

The drugs were seized by troops from the Argentine navy in “Operative 24.” The first bust of the operation, on February 8, occurred when navy officers intercepted a vessel carrying about 604 kilograms of marijuana along the Parana River, El Intransigente reported. The next bust, on the following day, happened when officers chased a vehicle through Corrientes City and uncovered another 600 kilograms of marijuana, Chaco Hoy reported.
