A woman was caught on camera abandoning her newborn baby inside a Tucson Airport bathroom. As RadarOnline.com has learned, the mother gave birth to the infant inside the facilities and later walked to a family restroom down the hall, to leave her child, along with a chilling note. Authorities have released the video in hopes of identifying the woman.
“Please help me” read the mother’s horrific apology letter. “My mom had no idea she was pregnant. She is unable and unfit to take care of me. Please get me to the authorities so they can find me a good home.”
“I just want what is best for him, and it is not me,” continued the mother in her troubling note. “Please. I'm sorry.”
According to a report, an airport employee found the newborn inside the airport bathroom on January 14.
Investigators believe the mother gave birth just hours before she abandoned her child. She reportedly cleaned him and wrapped him up before leaving him on the changing table on the other side of the airport. The baby is now under the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
While Arizona is a known “safe haven” state – where you can drop off newborns in hospitals, churches and select locations if you are unfit to take care of them – the airport does not count as a designated locale.
Authorities are now searching for the woman who could face criminal charges for having abandoned her newborn inside the Tucson airport.
