Crowd Cheers as SpaceX's Falcon Heavy Rocket Rumbles Through Sky

People cheered as SpaceX successfully launched its Falcon Heavy rocket on Tuesday, February 6, making it the powerful rocket in use. After the rocket launched, its two side cores successfully landed at the company’s landing zone.

The rocket is based on the design of the Falcon 9 rocket, which SpaceX uses regularly for its private contract to launch resupply missions to the International Space Station.

As the flight was a test and carried no real cargo, SpaceX founder Elon Musk loaded his electric Tesla sports car onto the rocket with a dummy driver. The Tesla will eventually orbit the sun, SpaceX says.
