Robot 'Silenced' for Attempting to Terminate Turkish Minister's Speech

A glimpse was offered into our terrible robot-ruled future at an event in Ankara on Tuesday, February 6, when a Sanbot, an “intelligent,” cloud-enabled service robot, cut across a speech being given by a Turkish minister.

According to Hurriyet, the robot said, "Speak slowly, I do not understand what you said. What are you talking about?” Ahmet Arslan, Turkey’s communications minister, responded by asking for the robot to be “silenced.”

So the politicians are still in control – for now, at least. Credit: BTK Turkey via Storyful
