Austrian Armed Forces Rescue Skiers From Broken Chairlift

The Austrian Armed Forces rescued more than 100 skiers from a broken chairlift at the Kreischberg ski resort in Styria on Monday, January 29.

This video shows people being hoisted from the Rosenkranz chairlift up to a helicopter. At least six choppers were used in the rescue, according to local news reports.

The chairlift broke down at about 2:30 pm due to a technical fault and all people affected were saved by 6 pm, according to Austrian newspaper Die Presse. Credit: Austrian Armed Forces via Storyful
