Volcano Erupts at Japanese Ski Resort, Several Injured A volcano suddenly erupted at a ski resort in central Japan leaving at least 15 people injured, according to local media. One person was said to be missing. Japan’s Meteorological Agency raised the alert level for three out of five. Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane is located about 120 miles northwest of Tokyo. The volcano erupted around 10 a.m. local time.
