NYPD ready security measures ahead of Times Square New Year's celebrations

Officials in New York City stated on Tuesday that nearly 6,000 police officers will be on hand to guard the Times Square celebration for New Year's. Some of those will be armed with long guns, radiation detectors, and bomb-sniffing dogs.
