Hillary Clinton marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day, in part, by sharing some of his uplifting words about darker days. She wrote in a tweet Monday, "These words from Dr. King also come to mind today:" and attached one of Dr. King's memorable quotes.  "When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows," it read.
Other prominent figures who took to Twitter to comment on King's immense contributions include former President Barack Obama and first lady Melania Trump. "Dr. King was 26 when the Montgomery bus boycott began," Obama wrote. "He started small, rallying others who believed their efforts mattered, pressing on through challenges and doubts to change our world for the better. A permanent inspiration for the rest of us to keep pushing towards justice." Meanwhile, the first lady tweeted, "We honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. & his service to this great country." "I am honored to be First Lady of a nation that continually strives for equality & justice for all," she further said.
