California Mudslides: Rescuers Continue Search For the Missing

On Thursday, Reuters reported that eight people are still missing after mudslides ripped through a coastal Southern California community. Rescue workers have confirmed the identities of some of the 17 who died, since the beginning of the disasters on Tuesday. On Thursday, spokeswoman Susan Klein-Rothschild said that floodwaters and mudslides destroyed 65 homes and damaged 462 other residences in Santa Barbara County.
