A rabbi was killed in a drive-by shooting on the night of January 9 near Havat Gil’ad, an Israeli outpost in the West Bank, where the rabbi lived.
Rabbi Raziel Shevach had wounds to his neck and upper body and was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, where he was pronounced dead.
Hamas and Islamic Jihad praised the attack, according to Haaretz.
Havat Gilad is considered an unauthorized outpost by the Israeli government. It has been the site of several clashes between residents and Israeli security forces amid periodic evictions. However, it remains home to some 50 Jewish families. Credit: Magen David Adom via Storyful
