Forecasters are predicting one more day of bitter cold temperatures that have consumed much of the Eastern part of the U.S. since the start of the new year. The frigid temperatures dumped a “bomb cyclone” snowstorm complete with pictorials of frozen iguanas falling from trees in Florida. The arrival of a thaw is expected to begin on Monday, a thaw that should allow residents in some areas such as New England to recover from a foot (30 cm) or more of snow dumped by Friday’s blizzard.
