NASA Astronaut John Young Dies At 87

According to a statement from NASA, one of the agency's treasured astronauts has died.
John Young has died at the age of 87 at his home in Houston.
Young served in the Navy for 25 years as an aviator and test pilot prior to his service in NASA, obtaining the rank of Captain.
He would go on to join NASA in the second group of astronauts before the Gemini program.
Young worked at the agency for 42 years, flying two Gemini missions, two Apollo missions, and two Space Shuttle missions.
