President Trump on Friday stepped up his attack on former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.

President Trump on Friday stepped up his attack on former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, again referring to him as "Sloppy Steve."
"The Mercer Family recently dumped the leaker known as Sloppy Steve Bannon. Smart!," Trump tweeted.
His tweet comes hours after billionaire Rebekah Mercer announced that her family is no longer supporting Bannon. "The Mercers and their fortune have been a mainstay of Bannon's political operation," according to Bloomberg.
Trump's Friday post follows a Thursday tweet in which the president slammed Bannon and Michael Wolff, the author of the new book, 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.'
"I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don't exist. Look at this guy's past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!" the president tweeted on Thursday.
The feud between Trump and Bannon publicly erupted on Wednesday after the release of an excerpt from the book which included many scathing comments by Bannon against Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner.
Trump soon after released a statement, saying, "Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind."
