US Coast Guard members worked through a powerful nor’easter that hammered the east coast on Thursday, January 4.

Video from the USCG ice cutter Seneca, based in Boston, shows the elements guardsmen faced as they patrolled for stranded mariners during the storm. Meanwhile, the ice cutter Wire, which is based in Saugerties, New York, worked to break up ice along the Hudson River.
