A Nor’easter storm brought whiteout conditions to New York City on January 4 and disrupted travel across the northeast.

Widespread damage was reported across the East Coast. In Winthrop, Massachusetts, 75 homes were flooded to the first floors, and persistent gusts downed power lines in Connecticut.

This video shows the low visibility conditions as a car drove west on Grand Central Parkway towards LaGuardia Airport, where flights were disrupted and only resumed operations on Thursday evening. JFK Airport, according to authorities, would remain shut until Friday morning. Credit: Instagram/stephenhatzis via Storyful
