A note left for a Sutherland Shire man on December 28 warned that one of the world’s deadliest snakes was seen slithering up into his car. It wasn’t a joke.
Michael Garbutt was returning from an afternoon stroll in Kurnell, New South Wales, when he found the note left on the windscreen of his car. “Hi this afternoon a red Belly slithered up into your front left tyre,” the note read. “Please be careful.”
Garbutt popped open the bonnett of his car and found a red-bellied snake coiled up inside. He Googled local a local snake catcher who spent an hour fishing the venomous snake from his car.
“To say I was shocked is an understatement. On reflection I don’t think I would have put my hand out to pop the bonnet if I had known it was there,” Garbutt told the Sydney Morning Herald. Credit: Michael Garbutt via Storyful
