One deputy was killed and four others were injured after responding to a domestic dispute call in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on December 31, according to a statement from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
Two civilians were also injured in the shooting, and law enforcement officials said that they believed the shooter had been shot and killed by police. Residents were asked to avoid the area as it was still a “very active” crime scene.
