Police and firefighters teamed up in Newton, Kansas, to save an injured duck that had gotten stuck in the ice on a pond. The duck’s injuries had prevented it from moving as the water froze around it, the Newton Police Department said.
Rescuers used a small boat and broke the ice to free the duck. They then used a net to haul the duck out of the ice. Workers took the duck to the Hutchinson Zoo Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for treatment. Credit: Newton Police Department via Storyful
