Seven Foot Snow Drifts Accumulate Around Mount Washington Observatory

Meteorologists recorded snowfall on the summit near Mount Washington Observatory in New Hampshire on December 19.

The video shows meteorologist Mike Carmon, retrieving a precipitation can after a night of snowfall. According to a post by the Observatory on Facebook, over six inches had fallen overnight. The post said that while 50 mph winds blew some snow off the summit, drifts of up to seven feet still managed to accumulate near the observatory.
