Gitla is a singer, songwriter and composer. Her name is an inheritance from her grandmother, originates from Rumania and means “good”. As a child, she was a soloist in her school choir and in the youth choir of Kiryat Bialik, her hometown. At the age of 14 she discovered her love for songwriting and at 21 taught herself to play the acoustic guitar, developing a unique and profound playing and writing style. It is characterized by genuineness, openness and truth, and shows her perspective as a “story teller” while relating to her personal world, her childhood stories, influential figures in her life, her love of nature and the living, and the intense connection with the past and the lifestyle characterized by it.
Her warm and delicate voice conveys intimacy and honesty and is characterized also by unique breaking in the high tones and a warm depth in the low ones.
As an independent musician, Gitla considers it of the utmost importance that she is fully involved in her entire production process. In 2013 Gitla raised 30,000 nis through the “Headstart” site from her supporters in Israel and abroad in order to finance the recording and production of her first album, which is planned to come out in the summer of 2014.
