Originally from Long Island, New York, singer-songwriter Jordan Laurenti now makes South Florida his home where he stays busy performing in a variety of venues. He’s been performing up and down the east coast for the past 10 years.
He calls his current project J-Bay, which came about after taking a trip to South Africa. “I visited Jeffery’s Bay in South Africa and I was touched by the kids and the heart of the people in Port Elizabeth. My cousin, who suffers from an illness, is also named Jeffery, so I named my project as a tribute to both of those influences,” he said.
Jordan — who names Bon Iver, Coldplay, Radiohead, Jason Mraz and Gavin DeGraw as his influences — is working on a recording a CD of his original music.
