Harvey Weinstein has responded to Salma Hayek’s op-ed in The New York Times… and he as a different side of the story.
Through a PR representative, Weinstein released a statement saying that he regards Salma as a first class actress who he cast in several of his movies and he continues to support her work.
He said he put up half the money and all the P&A for Frida, but as in most collaborative projects, there was also creative friction.
He does not recall pressuring Salma to do a gratuitous sex scene, and all allegations as portrayed by Salma are not accurate.
Harvey even said he battled the WGA to get Edward Norton a credit on the film for rewriting the script… but was ultimately unsuccessful.
In the bombshell op-ed, Hayak makes very serious allegations about the movie mogul, and even called him a monster.
