US Navy Helicopter Drops Water on California Wildfires

US Navy members joined the fight against the California wildfires in San Diego County this week. The US Navy released video on Saturday, December 9, showing the Black Jacks of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 21 dropping water on a fire.

The Lilac Fire was burning in San Diego, sparked on December 7, and had burned at least 4,100 acres as of Sunday, December 10. The fire was 60 percent contained.

The fire had destroyed at least 182 structures and damaged at least another 23 more. This aerial video shows some of the damage caused by the fire. Credit: US Navy via Storyful
