Fire Crews Work to Douse Wind-Fueled Lilac Fire

Air tankers and firefighting planes were spotted dropping fire retardant across Fallbrook-Bonsall, California, area on Thursday, December 7, to combat the 2,500-acre Lilac Fire.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the fire destroyed “dozens” of structures and threatened 1,000 more. Mandatory evacuations were issued for thousands of homes.

Early Thursday, Cal Fire reported winds could reach 80 mph in some areas.
