A majority of House Democrats joined Republicans on Wednesday to take down an attempt to impeach President Donald Trump. Only 58 Democrats supported the bid to consider impeachment, while House Democratic leaders viewed the measure as a distraction in a Republican-controlled Congress. The motion to kill the measure passed 364-58. The vote was proposed by Rep. Al Green of Texas, who introduced articles of impeachment describing Trump as a bigot who has demeaned the presidency.
