Properties were raided and workers detained in two Western Australian towns in late November as part of an operation to crack down on illegal labour hire in Australia.

The Australian Border Force said they executed warrants at properties in Queensland and Western Australia as part of Taskforce Cadena, which targeted labour hire intermediaries. This footage shows officers at properties in Manjimup and Pemberton in Western Australia, on November 28 and 30, respectively.

“The exploitation of foreign workers can have a lasting negative impact on Australian communities and individuals. This can include the underpayment and exploitation of vulnerable visa holders in workplaces and the closure of small businesses due to unfair competitive advantage gained by competitors not complying with the law,” ABF Investigations Acting Commander Garry Low said.
