The Armed Forces of Malta published a video on December 4 that they said showed the arrest of 10 people wanted in connection with investigations into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Officials said the operation, which was carried out in the harbor of Menqa, in Marsa, was a joint effort between the Armed Forces of Malta, the Malta Police Force, and the Security Service.

Caruana Galizia was killed on October 16 by a car bomb near her home in Bidnija. In 2016, she broke a story related to the Panama Papers, tying the prime minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri, and then Minister for Energy and Health Konrad Mizzi to offshore shell companies, sparking a political crisis.
