Police intercepted a drug syndicate and made nine arrests, raiding homes in Sydney’s south-west on Thursday, November 30.
The arrests were made by the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad in Bass Hill, Belmore, Greenacre, and Punchbowl at 6:30 am. The Public Order and Riot Squad, South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad and the Dog Unit were also involved in the operation.
Police said they had detected the supply of prohibited drugs, including cocaine, methylamphetamine (ice), and cannabis.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the arrests followed the death of underworld figure Wally Ahmad, who had links to the cocaine supply operation, in April 2016. Credit: NSW Police Force via Storyful
