Iraq and Syria announced they official defeated ISIS. ISIS originally declared its sovereign territory over the countries in the summer of 2014. Iraq's Hadir Al-Abadi and Iran's Hassan Rouhani said their forces drove out ISIS from Iraq's and Syria's territory. The threat of ISIS still remains, given the numerous ISIS cells around the world.
