Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Florida estate on November 21, demanding for Haitian immigration reform. On Monday, the Trump administration announced the end to Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
With the end of TPS, nearly 60,000 Haitian immigrants with provisional legal residency would have to leave the country within 18 months. The original law would have allowed them to remain in the country for more than seven years.
The ruling prompted protests outside Trump’s Florida estate. This video shows the protesters banging drums and chanting for reform. Credit: Instagram/actionpat via Storyful
