Drone footage captures rivers of lava flowing from Kilauea Volcano, Hawaii, on October 7.
Erez Marom shot the footage while on a two-week trip to Hawaii with a friend. The pair hiked eight kilometers to reach the hot lava, which was flowing outside the boundary of the national park.
Marom used his drone to capture footage from the air, in addition to DSLR shots from the ground. After a while, he noticed the right side of the drone images were darker and realized the lava had melted the plastic inside the drone camera. But “It was worth it, though!” he said.
