Nowadays i just do solo runs because most of the people i know are not there so if i see a UFO Unknown Fast Object following me i just vamoose. Sorry about that. I don't care much for multi-player games because of hackers, not saying that the guy following me is one; i'm just not taking anymore chances. I had my identity stolen once while i was there and the only way i know to remedy that is to teleport to another area far away or exit the game. I had my game crashed a few times because of hackers in the vicinity so normally i disable online interaction or teleport to another location.
I think the reasons why TDU now has a dearth of players is: 1) The PC servers have a habit of being offline for a very long time so people moved on.
2) There are too many new games to play and we can't linger too much on an old favourite.
3) Hackers are probably the number one reason MP dies quickly in many games. Hacked scoreboard and player griefing are just some of the unpleasantness.
4) Pay-To-Win direction some games are taking. TDU2 is also slightly guilty of that, for example the fastest baddest car can only be bought as DLC but it's heavy and hard to control. Bike not the fastest but easiest to control also is also a DLC only add-on.
At least those are the reasons (1-3) for me in TDU2 No.4 is for other MMOs. Waiting to see if the servers are up eats too much time. it adds up when repeatedly done over time.
