I have a soft spot for Android gaming handhelds and I found another one, the GPD XD. I received a free review unit - had to pay shipping and import duties. And must say I am very impressed by the build quality. Its game controls are of a superior quality compared to many of the other Android handhelds. It features: Japan Alps Original 3DS analog numbs, a NDS type D-pad, Action buttons with Xbox 360 button lay out and Playstation markings, Japan Omron micro switched shoulder buttons. Which do make a huge difference when you compare it to its competitors. \r

Many games that support controllers recognize the gamepad - it is recognized as XBOX - and the games often map to the buttons automatically. It is possible to map the physical buttons to on screen buttons with a mapping tool when games are touch only. \r
\r
It comes with a universal simulator called HappyChick that enables you to play Superfamicom, Famicom, Nes, Snes, Megadrive, Genesis, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Colour, Dreamcast, Arcade games, Sony PSP, Sony Playstation, Wonderswan and NeoGeo out of the box. It also features multiplayer network gameplay with emulators. \r

You can hook up the console to a HD TV through a HDMI cable, which is not provided in the case but available separately. \r
