Wind Whips Lighthouse Pier Along Lake Ontario in New York

Winds whipped along Lake Ontario in New York on Sunday, November 19, as high gusts were reported across the state. Lake-effect snow was expected near the Great Lakes.

The National Weather Service recorded gusts in excess of 50 miles per hour in some parts of the state. The weather service also said lake-effect snow bands were coming ashor and the system would first produce rain before turning to snow, which could hamper travel.
