Attacks on parts of the rebel-held Damascus suburb of East Ghouta intensified on Saturday, November 18, with shelling, ground-to-ground missiles and airstrikes killing and injuring civilians.

Regime forces also blasted the Ghouta road with shelling, which comes after opposition fighters took control of strategic points in the southern sector of al-Kubba, activist media agency Qasioun News said.

The agency posted this video showing explosions in East Ghouta and Syrian Air Force Sukhoi Su-22 fighter-bomber overhead.

Also in Ghouta, Hazzeh, Hamouryia and Arbin were targeted with cluster missiles," reports said.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported 110 people were killed in a 24-hour period in East Ghouta as fighting between Islamic factions and the Syrian government intensified. Credit: YouTube/Qasioun News via Storyful
