Polar Bears Hunt, Feast on Fish at Cincinnati Zoo

The polar bears at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens were able to hunt recently after zookeepers filled their pools with fish. The zoo released a video on Wednesday, November 15, showing the bears, just days after Polar Bear Week ended.

The video shows the keepers releasing the fish before the bears start hunting them. At first, the bears miss the fish each time they dive for one. After a few moments, though, they get the hang of it and start catching fish.

Polar Bear Week was November 5-11 and coincided with the annual polar bear migration to Churchill, Manitoba, where they gather to await Hudson Bay to freeze. The week aims to raise awareness about the importance of sea ice for polar bears.
