Protesters Sing After Disrupting 'Clean Fossil Fuels' Talk at UN Climate Change Conference

Protesters at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany, chanted outside a pro-fossil fuels talk held by the Trump administration on November 13 after they were escorted out of the room.

Inside, the protesters had held up the presentation advocating the use of “clean” fossil fuels for roughly seven minutes as they sang a parody version of God Bless the USA.

“You claim to be an American, but we see right through your greed,” the demonstrators chorused. “And we proudly stand up and tell you to ‘Keep it in the ground’” – the line a reference to an anti-coal movement of the same name.

Their departure left the 220-seat meeting room half-empty, a Reuters report said. The demonstrators continued the anti-coal protest outside. Credit: Instagram/Niina Ratilainen via Storyful
