Strong winds whipped through the western parts of Washington state on Monday, November 13, felling trees and breaking power lines in several counties.

One woman in her mid-30s was killed in Renton, about 12 miles from Seattle, when a tree crashed on top of their car, the Seattle Times reported. The woman’s sister, travelling in the same vehicle, was injured. A two-year-old child of the deceased was unharmed, the local fire department said.
